Kit news, and a field trip

Great news - the re-order came in for our kits! If you had placed an order for some of our stylish Team Town Cycle merchandise, it is at Town Cycle now, bagged and ready for pick-up! If you didn't place an order, and now are mired in remorse - don't despair! We do have some extra stock! Drop us a line at info@teamtowncycle.com with what you are looking for, and we'll try to hook you up with the most stylish riding gear around! Wear the plaid proudly!


But wait - there's more! As part of our effort to whip up some enthusiasm and  win approval for the construction of a pump track in West Milford, we're planning a field trip to the only other municipal pump track in NJ. On June 4 (rain date June 11), several Team Town Cycle members will take a trip down to the Alexandria Pump Track to see what all the excitement is about! You don't need a super special bike to ride at a pump track - bring what you've got, grab your helmet, and come check it out! If you have a BMX bike, great - if not, your mountain bike or whatever you have with knobby tires will work! Bring your kids, friends, neighbors, etc. Our plan is to arrive at the track around 9 a.m., and spend a few hours riding and talking to the builders of the track. We'd love to have you join us, and are willing to help coordinate a caravan and/or carpooling for anyone interested. As always, drop us a line with any questions or concerns!

Attention all Team Town Cycle racers!

Attention all racers - or those who are interested in racing! Although race season seems like a long way off, eventually the snow will melt (Right? Please? RIGHT????), and we'll be back on our bikes before we know it. In the meantime, we're making plans for the upcoming race season, and we want to include you all in our plans!

Join us on this Thursday evening, February 10, at 7 p.m. at Town Cycle, and we'll talk about how the club will be working to support you and your goals for this season and beyond. We'll talk training, kits, race schedules, racer incentives, and more. Road racing, mountain bike racing, cyclocross - we'll cover it all!

Housekeeping

Howdy all -

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family! Have a few housekeeping items to catch up on, so here goes ...

• It's membership renewal time! Many of you renewed at the Team Town Cycle dinner last month - thank you! For those of you who didn't, please find our very short renewal form here. You can either return it to the P.O. Box, or drop it off at Town Cycle at your convenience. We'd like to wrap up renewals by the end of the year, if possible.
• One last, final, absolutely final final - no really, we mean it this time - FINAL call for TTC kit orders! We need your order forms in, and PAID IN FULL, by Saturday, December 4. As above, you can mail them to the P.O. Box or drop them off at Town Cycle. If you need an order form, let us know - we'll get one out to you. 
• A few lost and found items from our fabulous Party 4 Marty - all kids items. Pink fleece jacket size 2t from L.L. Bean, white vest full zipper size L with little pink palm tree on the front(Lilly Pulitzer), dark red jacket full zip from Tony Hawk size 10/12 Kohls. Let us know if any of these things belongs to you - we'll make arrangements to get them back to you. 
• Finally, and importantly - for those of you who are riding out in the woods - please remember both firearm deer hunting season and bear hunting season starts on December 6 and continues until December 11. Most state park properties are involved in these seasons, so please take that into consideration when you make your plans for riding next week! More information about hunting in NJ state parks can be found here.

Reminders for the week!

Couple of quick reminders - 

• We are scheduled to go for our first night ride of the season tomorrow night, but the weather may not cooperate with us .... Stay tuned for an update! More info on times and place can be found here . If tomorrow doesn't work, we'll give it another shot next Tuesday!
• Don't forget - the deadline for Team Town Cycle uniform re-orders is Thursday, September 30! If you need an order form, let us know. Payment is due in full with the order, no exceptions! Either get it in the mail quick (P.O. Box 557, West Milford, NJ  07480), or drop it off at the shop no later than Thursday!
• Saturday, October 2 is a trail work day at Jungle Habitat - get started on your PayDirt hours for 2011! We'll bring the tools, you bring gloves and water. Meet us at the gate at 9 a.m. - we'll work until about 12:30 p.m.
• Saturday, October 2 is also our Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day at Jungle Habitat! We'll have snacks courtesy of Clif and goodies courtesy of IMBA and Town Cycle. Bring your kid, your neighbor's kid, your friend's kid, nieces, nephews, grandkids - whoever! We'll be at Jungle Habitat from 1-3 p.m. More details in the flyer . 
• The final race of the 2010 Campmor H2H series is on Sunday, Oct. 3 at Ringwood State Park. Come cheer Team Town Cycle on, come race (for the first time, or the first time in a long time!) - it'll be a great day either way!

So, you say you missed out on our pre-order, and now you are having kit envy? Well, lucky for you - we can help with that! We're doing a limited re-order - jerseys and shorts only - so here's your second chance!

Team Town Cycle kits are here!!!!

At long last, the new Team Town Cycle kits are here! If you have pre-ordered (and only if you have pre-ordered!!), you may pick up your pre-ordered items ONLY at Town Cycle. If you missed the original pre-order, are looking for additional items or items for a friend, etc. - those items will not be available until some time next week. We'll send an email out with availability of additional items when they are ready.

In the meantime, stop by and see Mike - he's open Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Tuesday/Thursday 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.

They're almost here!!

We know it's been a long wait, but the new and improved Team Town Cycle kits are almost here! They have officially shipped from the manufacturer, and should be here in the next few days. Check your email over the next few days for an announcement regarding pickup, etc.

Last chance to order Team Town Cycle Gear!

As we try to meet some ordering minimums to get better deals on pricing, we have a short window of opportunity to order additional Team Town Cycle gear! If you were on the fence about an extra jersey or pair of shorts, or maybe a vest or knee warmers, drop in to Town Cycle and fill out your order form no later than Saturday!!! It'll be your last chance to get some cool gear at a great price.

For those who are interested, our Team Town Cycle socks are in! They are also available at the shop, so pick up a pair this weekend as you drop off your uniform order!

Saturday is absolutely the last day for additional orders, so don't procrastinate! As always, any questions, let us know!

Updates and reminders

Just a few quick updates and reminders!

1. The Team Town Cycle uniform order is due March 15!! If anyone needs another copy of the order form or sizing chart, let us know. We want to get the order in ASAP, so don't procrastinate or you will miss out!
2. Another Team Town Cycle exclusive - don't forget our special 20% off LAS Helmets deal! All sizes are available for try out at Town Cycle, so come down to the shop, have Michael fit you, and get a great deal on a great helmet.
3. The weather might not be perfect yet for riding, but it's perfect for spin classes! Don't forget - Friday nights, 6:30 p.m. at Kor Fitness on Union Valley Road in West Milford. First come, first served. Please RSVP to either us or Greg Muniz at gregmuniz@netscape.net so we can get a head count - thanks!
4. Sunday is the first day of daylight savings - and the first day of trail work day for 2010 at Jungle Habitat! Given the conditions that we'll likely be encountering, our focus will be on clearing branches and access ways for the new trails we'll be working on this year. Yes, it'll be muddy, and a little wet, but it should be in the 50's Sunday, so come out and join us! Check out our calendar for all the details - and don't forget to turn your clock ahead!

It's about damn time, we know - but THE UNIFORMS ARE FINALLY HERE! Yes, this is a little last minute, but we're going to be distributing the all new Team Town Cycle gear TOMORROW, June 13th, at Town Cycle, 1468 Union Valley Road, West Milford from 3-6 p.m. If you can't make it then, please get in touch with us at info@teamtowncycle.com, and we'll try to make other arrangements for you.

Our new gear looks great, the weather is improving - so you have no more excuses! Our club has 110 members, and yet we see a lot of the same people each ride. (Not that we don't love our regulars, of course!) Please, please come out and join us for a ride soon, even if only to show off the new threads! We are always looking for new ideas for rides and activities, so if you have one, please let us know - we're always up for something different!
