Thank you's and some notes

  • We've been trying to remember to thank everyone who came out and joined us at JORBA Jungle Jam on 9/21- maybe you came and took out a demo bike, bought a raffle ticket, swept a ride, brought a friend. Thank you to all of you who helped us spread the JORBA love! A special thank you to Manny Lugo of VideoTrailReviews.com - always a champion of JORBA, not only did he donate a stack of videos to our door prize swag, he also made a great highlight video of the day. Manny is the man! http://vimeo.com/108092023
  • Looking for a mid week workout? Join TTC's Jay Huggins as he holds a beginners night at the West Milford Family Pump Track on October 8, from 5:30-7 p.m. No BMX or dirt jump bike? No problem - Jay will have some loaners. Feel free to bring your mountain bike as well - that, and a helmet, and you're in for a good night of riding under Jay's expert guidance.
  • Don't forget - our MTB and CX skills clinic is on Sunday October 19 from 12-4 pm at Wawayanda - details coming out later today

Rides and a Save the Date!

  • Tomorrow, Thursday, October 2. Night ride at JH. Meet at 179 Cahill Cross Rd. (please park in the lot, but away from the businesses) - and of course, bring your lights! We'll ride for 1.5 hours, and don't worry - we'll leave no one behind!
  • Sunday, October 5 - join Quinton and Titus from the TTC downhill race team as they take you on a tour of the downhill trails at Mountain Creek! Meet them at the lift at the bottom of the hill at 11 a.m., ready to ride. They'll show you downhill trails and talk to you about all things downhill. If you are a JORBA member, you'll get a discount on a lift ticket, so bring your JORBA membership card and check it out!
  • Save the date - Sunday October 19! Team Town Cycle, in partnership with Pro Power Endurance Coaching, will be presenting a mountain bike and cyclocross skills clinic at Wawayanda from 12-4 p.m. Mark the date on your calendar and stay tuned for more details!

July 15 NYC Ride details, and Ladies Road Bike Clinic!

For those of you who are attending the NYC Tour de Cupcake ride on Sunday, July 15th, a few reminders!
  • We'll meet at KC's Bagels on Route 23 in Pompton Plains at 7:45 a.m. We'll travel down to Fort Lee Park, ditch our four wheeled vehicles, and pedal our way across the GWB and do some sightseeing in NYC - including cupcake rest stops! Our exact time back? Not sure - maybe when we run out of cupcakes?
  • If it is raining in the a.m., we'll cancel and reschedule. Cupcakes get soggy in the rain!
And for our ladies - instead of our usual Wednesday night ride on July 18, join us at the Kahl's for a road bike clinic and dinner!
  • Bring your road bike - we won't be riding, but we'll go over the care and feeding of your road bike.
  • We'll meet at 6 p.m. - please RSVP ASAP and bring your favorite appetizer or dessert!
Have a great weekend!

Ladies Mountain Bike Demo Day - October 15

Well, we told you to save the date - now it's time for the details!

Trek and Team Town Cycle are thrilled to be sponsoring a Ladies Mountain Bike Demo Day and Clinic on October 15, 2011. We'll meet at Waywayanda at 9:30 a.m., spending the morning talking bikes and skills, have a light lunch with general biking questions and a few bike maintenance tips, then off for a ride - wrapping up by 3:00 p.m.

Please bring your own mountain bike, as demo bikes will be first come, first served, and  there will not be enough demo bikes to go around. We will ride in a light rain, but anything heavier will cancel. We will be located in the boat launch parking lot, but please park in the main lot.

Everyone is welcome - you don't have to be from TTC to join us! Beginner to expert, we welcome everyone. We only ask for an RSVP so we can plan for lunch! Can only stay for part of the day? No problem, we're happy to have you for as long as you can stay! Want to bring a friend? Awesome - we love new people! Need a flyer - here you go!

Please RSVP to Heather  by Thursday, October 13 - heatherk@acdsecurity.com

Mid-October at Waywayanda promises to be perfect riding weather with beautiful leaf colors and a wonderful opportunity to try out some of the new Trek WSD bikes with a great bunch of women - we hope you can join us!

More for the ladies!

OK girls, we've got a few more events for you. On Wednesday, August 24, we will replace our regular ladies road ride with a bike maintenance clinic and potluck dinner. Learn about basic bike repairs (changing a flat on the road, tire pressure, fixing a brake rub, etc.), and tips and tricks to make your rides easier and better! We'll meet at the Kahl's at 6 p.m. - please RSVP to Heather and let her know what you can bring!

Also, on Sunday, September 25, we will have a Ladies Only road ride to New Paltz - a one way ride, approximately 50 miles. It's a great route, with the promise of lunch at the other end! We will leave Town Cycle at 9 a.m. - rain will cancel. We could use a supportive husband/spouse/friend/other to help transport riders home for the return trip - let us know if you have one of those! We'll need a head count for this ride, so please RSVP to us and let us know that you are interested!

Now guys, don't get jealous - we've got a few announcements coming down the pike that are for everyone! Stay tuned for more cool rides and events coming soon!
