New for this weekend!

Hi all -

A few rides to let you know of, besides our usual Wednesday Ladies Clinton Road ride and Friday night Clinton Road ride - 

• Saturday, August 4 - Ladies mountain bike ride at Lewis Morris Park in Morristown. This is a very beginner friendly park - bring a friend! We'll meet at 10 a.m. at the lower (lake) parking lot, and ride until about noon. Afterwards - Mexican food at Tito's! Rain will cancel.
• Sunday, August 5 - Mountain Creek Bike park in Vernon. Meet in the parking lot at noon. Bring $7 for a lift pass, we'll hitch a ride up to the top and ride the cross country trails for a few hours. Under 18 - please hit the Mountain Creek site to get the waiver and have it signed by your appropriate adult before you head up! 
• Looking for some weekend PayDirt? Black Bear Cycling is doing a Sunday trailbuild at Waywayanda at 8 a.m. - check out their site for more info.

Singlespeed-a-palooza and Darkhorse 40 Registration now open!

Looking ahead to warmer days? Registration opened today for the Singlespeed-a-palooza on April 29, and the Darkhorse 40, held on August 5! These perennial favorites, run by our friends at Dark Horse Cycles, are always great events. There are limited spaces available, so don't wait to register. The SS-apalooza, with only 250 spots available, already has 111 sign-ups...and registration only opened at midnight! So don't delay - both events are available for registration online at www.bikereg. com . 

Reminders!

Hi all-

Hope everyone is staying warm on this frigid day! Here are a few things to look forward to!

• Just a quick reminder that we will be climbing tonight at the Gravity Vault in Upper Saddle River. Join us at 6 p.m. Directions can be found here. 
• Registration is open for the famous (or is it infamous?!) Singelspeed-a-polooza, to be held at Stewart State Forest in Newburgh, NY on April 17, put on by our friends at Dark Horse Cycles. They will close registration at some point, so don't delay! This event is pre-reg only - no day of registration will be available! Register at BikeReg today!
• Speaking of Dark Horse and Stewart and crazy epic rides as we were, registration is also open for the Dark Horse 40, the classic 40 mile race also held at Stewart State Forest. This year, it will be held on July 31, and right now registration is only $55. It will go up to $75 on May 1, so don't delay!

Dark Horse 40

The classic Darkhorse 40 is on August 1 - and registration closes on July 16th! It's a great race at a great location, and beer and bar-b-que chicken for all participants - what's not to love? Bike Reg info is at http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=9800 , and check out their blog at http://www.darkhorse40.blogspot.com/ - it has the course map, sneak peak at their event t-shirt, etc.

If you're not sure you can do the whole 40 miles yourself - no worries! You can make a 2 person team of it as well! A good way to dip your toe into a longer distance event!

The Darkhorse 40 is pre-reg ONLY - so hurry up and sign up! If you have any questions about it, we have several club members who have run it in the past, so let us know - we'll hook you up with them!
