Weekend rides 8/1-8/3

  • OK, we've lost some of that humidity- what better way to celebrate than with a great kick off to the weekend? Yes, of course we are talking about the famously fabulous Friday Night Clinton Rd. ride! Meet us at 65 LaRue Rd., Newfoundland - we'll be wheels down at 6 p.m.
  • Can't make that? No worries - how about an NYC ride on Saturday, August 2? Meet us at KC's Bagels on Rt. 23 at 8 a.m. TTC's Wolf and Caroline will be checking out “NYC Summer Streets” . We’ll caravan down to Ft. Lee Historic Park, park there and then ride over the GWB to the Greenway. We'll got over to Central Park and then down Park Avenue to Madison Square Park. We’ll have lunch at the Shake Shack (or thereabout) and then return. We hope to be home around 2 p.m., approximately. For more information about Summer Streets, see www.nyc.gov/summerstreets.
  • On Sunday, Aug. 3, TTC's Mike M. will lead a mountain bike ride up at Wawayanda. Meet him at the ranger station at 9 a.m., for a moderate pace ride a couple of hours long. Wawayanda has lots of shade even on the hot days - great place for a summer MTB ride.
  • Don't forget Sunday's H2H race over at 909 - it's a double points race, so don't miss out!
Have a great weekend everyone!

The week ahead - and a great big "Junior" thank you!

  • A huge, gigantic, ginormous, big, squishy THANK YOU to everyone who came out to race or help out for Juniors in the Jungle this past Saturday!!! You guys are the best! From BJ with his always excellent MC skills, to Angela for taking such great photos, to Heather for the most welcome egg sandwiches and kielbasa (it was worth the trip right there!), to all 3 Toms, the Dave's, Steve, Vicki, Sherri, Norm, Chris, Dave, Ted, Kevin, Mike, Nick, Ethan, Rick, James, and all the other people we are forgetting. Most importantly, thanks to all the racers and their parents who came out and took a lap or more! No one got hurt, we cleaned up and were out of there in record time, and most important - we got some more kids psyched about cycling! So thank you again to everyone who came out, and to everyone who helped spread the word!
  • TTC's BJ will be leading a night ride on Thursday, April 30. Wheels down at 8 p.m. at Jungle Habitat. Plug in your lights - we're looking for Bigfoot! Nothing racy about this ride - just a nice moonlit roll through JH.
  • Don't forget - this Friday, May 1 - the debut of the 2015 Friday Night Clinton Road rides! It's been a long winter - we are beyond glad to get this particular party started! Meet us at the United Methodist Church at 65 LaRue Road, Newfoundland. Please remember - we are guests of the church. Let's be considerate and park near the road, not by the church buildings. Wheels down at 6 p.m. Ladies rides start on Wednesday, May 6.
  • Local MTB racing this weekend - the 2nd H2H race of the season is at Wawayanda! All info on www.bikereg.com.
Have a great week everyone!

Thank you to all of you who helped us spread the JORBA love! A special thank you to Manny Lugo of VideoTrailReviews.com - always a champion of JORBA, not only did he donate a stack of videos to our door prize swag, he also made a great highlight video of the day. Thanksgiving news and notes

  • Although the weather doesn't look awesome for our T-day ride at Wawayanda tomorrow, nothing will be falling from the sky (rain or snow). It will, however, be chilly. We aren't planning on cancelling - some hardy (or foolhardy) riders will be at the boat launch at 8:30, cold be damned. If you come, bring all the warm riding gear you have - you'll need it!
  • Looking for way to work off that turkey and pie? How about a ride at 6 Mile in Franklin, Somerset County, on Sunday, Dec. 1. We'll meet at 11 a.m. at the Canal Road parking lot. We’ll ride a few hours at an easy to moderate pace. If folks want to bring the kids out, there’s the flat & easy fun D&R Canal towpath right there too. Definitely a variety of riding for everybody!
Here's a link to maps of Six Mile Run and D&R Canal towpath  =

          http://www.dandrcanal.com/pdf/SixMileRun_Trails_3-2010.pdf

Precipitation of any kind on Sunday cancels. Check back with us early Sunday if you have               any questions about weather!
  • Save these dates!
    • December 22 - one of our favorites - the annual TTC Reindeer Ride! Exact time and place TBD, but block the day out NOW!
    • January 17 - our annual TTC dinner! We'll get you more details as we get closer, but make sure you don't miss out on a great evening of food and friends!
Among the many, many things we are thankful for this year, as always, our TTC family is right near the top of our list. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
