Weekend notes - Friday Night ride, Trail work at JH, and a Giant demo!

  • OK, hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate with us on Friday, and we'll get a good night for our Friday night road ride on April 18. Still chasing daylight in mid-April, so wheels down at 5:30 p.m. Parking at the satellite lot across from Grasshoppers at the intersection of Route 23 and Clinton Road in Newfoundland. All levels and skills accommodated!
  • Trail maintenance at Jungle Habitat on Saturday, April 19 - 8-11 a.m. Meet us at the gate with gloves and water - we'll provide the tools! Heavy rain will cancel, but we'll work in spotty or light rain.
  • Also don't forget the Giant Bicycle demo sponsored by Town Cycle at Wawayanda State Park on Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Drivers license and credit card required to demo a bike. What a great way to check out the latest from Giant by riding on some awesome Wawayanda trails!
Happy Easter, Passover, Spring - whatever it is you celebrate!

Not looking good for the first FNR of 2014 ...

While it is fairly bright in WM right now, radar says rain will probably arrive just in time for our 2014 inaugural Friday Night Clinton Road ride. Our policy is generally "rain will cancel", but there are a few hardy souls that will probably show as long as there's no lightning. Expect turnout to be very low. If this is your first foray into a large group road ride, we suggest you wait until next week to "dip your toes" in the road riding pool.

Premiere of Friday Night Clinton Road rides for 2014 - we hope!

We are tentatively on for our first Friday Night Clinton Road road ride of 2014 tomorrow, April 11, but we will have to see what Mother Nature has in mind. Check back here for updates!

If the weather cooperates, we will be wheels down at 5:30. Park at the lot in the island ACROSS from Grasshoppers on Route 23 in Newfoundland - enter from Clinton Road crossing.

All levels and abilities welcome!

Save these April dates!

The snow is finally melted, and it's time to ramp things up around here!
  • Saturday, April 5 - Mountain bike ride at Wawayanda. TTC's Mike M. will be leading a moderate paced 2 hour ride from the boat launch parking lot. Wheels down at 10 a.m., so don't be late!
  • Friday, April 11 - it's back, and better than ever! The 2014 debut of Friday Night Clinton Road rides! We're still fighting for daylight this time of year, so our wheels down time is 5:30 p.m. We'll meet at the parking lot across from the soon-to-be opening Grasshoppers, 2891 Route 23, Newfoundland. For those of you unfamiliar with our Friday night rides, it's a great way to learn to ride with a group, learn about pacelines, and generally unwind from a long week and start the weekend out on a high note! All levels and abilities welcome - we'll split into groups, and make sure no one is left behind! Rain will cancel, so stay tuned to our blog, Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
  • Giant Mountain Bike demo at Wawayanda on April 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come try out the latest Giant mountain bike models on the awesome Wawayanda trails. More info here.
  • Don't forget, the 6th annual Juniors in the Jungle K-12 Mountain Bike race will be held at Jungle Habitat on April 26th. Definitely one of the most fun events of the year! Flyers can be found on our blog, website, and BikeReg.com.
