10th Rumble in the Jungle May 22 - and we're giving away stuff!
Yes, it's hard to believe on May 22, the AC Daughtry Security H2H Race #4 will be the 10th Rumble in the Jungle!
Everyone thought we were crazy when we said "Hey, let's race at Jungle
Habitat" - but here we are, 10 years in, and still going strong.
We know how it goes - you say you are going to pre-reg, you really mean to pre-reg, and then you get distracted by something shiny (SQUIRREL!!) ... and then, it's 9:10 p.m. on Friday night, and you missed it. But this time, we've got a big juicy incentive for you ...
To celebrate our 10th Rumble, we are having a few giveaways for all you faithful MTB'ers who pre-reg. We will have one $500 gift card to Town Cycle, as well as 2 pairs of Shimano shoes (any shoe you want!) courtesy of Shimano and Highland Sports Group. That's 3 great prizes! And they are available to anyone who pre-registers - for any class. We'll use the magical random generator after registration closes on Friday night at 9 p.m to pick our lucky winners, so this time - don't wait!
We're putting the finishing touches on the course, and as usual we will have Alan from Ruby Rose serving up some of his awesome post race food. And new for 2016 - a first timers class! So don't forget to pre-reg, come on out, bring your party hats, and celebrate 10 years of Rumble with us!

Pedal for Preservation, June 18
Looking for a fun family cycling activity? Sign up for the 5th annual Pedal for Preservation,
taking place on Saturday, June 18, and organized by the Land
Conservancy of NJ. The ride leaves from West Morris Central High School
in Chester, and there are 3 ride options - a 7, 20 or 30 mile ride along
the Columbia Trail, as well as a 2 hour hike on Schooley's Mountain.
There are well stocked rest areas along the way (with port-o-potties!),
t-shirts for youth and teen participants, door prizes, light breakfast
and lunch, and much more!
The Land Conservancy of NJ preserves land and water resources, conserves open space, and inspires and empowers individuals and communities to protect our natural land and environment. Recently, TLCNJ has been working right in the West Milford area, saving another 100+ acres in West Milford - 94 acres along the Hewitt Butler Trail which runs through Norvin Green State Forest off Otterhole Road, and another 10 acres along Warwick Turnpike which will allow trails on the north and south side of the road to connect.
Pricing
goes up after May 31, so take a minute and sign up today! If you have
any questions, drop us a line, and we can connect you with someone who
has ridden it in the past. A great event for a great cause!

Mindful Monday - remembering Dana Hannon
Back in 2011, TTC honored FDNY firefighter Dana Hannon on our Rumble In
the Jungle race t-shirt on the 10th anniversary of September 11. Dana
was the brother of TTC family member Kyle Hannon Bickford, and he died
with over 300 other FDNY members on 9/11. Kyle is keeping her brother's
memory alive by funding a scholarship in his name, and is selling
t-shirts for the 15th anniversary of 9/11. Please check out http://rememberdana.blogspot. com/
for information on how to order. and more information on his scholarship.
The deadline for ordering is June 11, so please don't delay.
Kyle and Kevin, we love you and your family, and honor all those families who have paid so dearly!Wednesday, May 4, 2016
I Dig Tuesday update
Many of you have been asking about when I Dig
Tuesdays will start at Jungle, and the short answer is - they will not -
at least not for the foreseeable future. The state is not approving any
new trail building at Jungle right now, so other than an occasional
maintenance TM session, we don't have much to do there right now.
However,
we have come up with an alternative. We're going to be doing bi-weekly
Tuesday trail building at the Hamburg Mountain Wildlife Management Area
in Vernon. This is the property that is above Mountain Creek, and is a
great opportunity for JORBA to spread their influence in the area!
We
know it is a bit out of the way to make it to after work, but we're
excited to work in Hamburg Mountain WMA area. If you can't make it here,
please consider hitting Dirty Thursdays with the Ringwood Trail Crew,
or check the JORBA Calendar for other opportunities.
Drop us a line at info@teamtowncycle.com with any questions!
