Picking up the pace!

Lots to talk about for this weekend - no time to lose!
  • You know it, you love it - the famous Friday night Clinton Road rides are back! For those of you who are not familiar with our much storied rides, we meet at the old Village Square Inn parking lot on Route 23 in Newfoundland. We break into groups, and do an out-and-back on Clinton Road, and a lap around Upper Greenwood Lake, for those who are so inclined. If you are not used to group road rides, this is a great ride to learn on! Pace line basics, group ride etiquette, etc. are all part of the fun. For this week, we will be wheels down at 5:30 p.m. sharp - any later and we will lose the light! So plan your arrival time accordingly. It's a great way to get used to riding in a group, so bring a friend and join us!
  • Saturday, March 31 - join us for our 2nd annual Clinton Road Clean-up. We spend a lot of time riding on this road, it's only seems fair that we help keep it clean. Meet us at the aforementioned Village Square Inn Parking lot at 9 a.m., and we'll make our plans from there. Please bring work gloves, water, a Team Town Cycle jersey or vest if you have one, and bug repellant or sunscreeen if desired.
  • Also Saturday, March 31 - a ladies only mountain bike ride at Lewis Morris Park in Morristown! Meet us down by the lake at 1 p.m. (or shortly thereafter!) - we'll gather and decide where we want to go from there! There's always the temptation of a late lunch at the local Mexican restaurant afterwards to get you through your ride! Lewis Morris is a very friendly beginner venue - if you are a bit rusty, or not up to rocky singletrack just yet, this is a great place for you! Rain will cancel!
  •  Sunday, April 1 - two events at Jungle Habitat - and no, that's not an April Fools joke!
    • The first JORBA trail work day of 2012 at Jungle Habitat is here! We're switching up the format a bit - first we will ride, then work. Meet us at 9 a.m. at the gates, and we'll ride (social pace) until about 11:45 a.m. Bring some lunch, we'll change, eat, and then head out at approximately 12:30 to work for about 3 hours. Bring your work gloves, water, etc. - we'll provide the tools. And yes, this is a Paydirt eligible event, so come on out, H2H racers!
    • UPDATE - we're going to put this ride on hold and help out at the trail work day - we'll reschedule for another day! Also, we'll have a second ride at JH - easy pace, possibly throwing in a lap around Warthog- 1-2 hours long, not a killer ride! We are wheels down at 1 p.m., so please plan ahead.
  • Also for Sunday, April 1st - our first Sugarloaf/Warwick Bicycles and Brunch road ride of 2012! This will be a moderately paced road ride (no drop), starting at Town Cycle at 9 a.m. We'll stop for breakfast burritos up in Sugarloaf, for those interested, and maybe an Italian cookie in Warwick, for anyone who is up for it. Bring some cash and plenty of water - it's a wonderful scenic ride!
So there you go - something for everyone! The weather looks great for this weekend, so no excuses - come on out and join us! As always, let us know if you have any questions - info@teamtowncycle.com
