Updates, updates, and more updates!

OK, a few housekeeping items. First, yes we know that you are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new uniforms. We had hoped to have them this week, but alas, it was not meant to be. We should have some news for you in the next few days!

Rides - yes, despite the rain, we are still out there riding! Tonight will be our usual Friday night road ride - meet us at 6 p.m. at the usual place, the Village Square Inn parking lot.

Saturday we will also ride Clinton Road. Our intrepid ladies, Heather and Karen, will lead a club paced road ride. It's good practice for our Sunday New Paltz ride! Please be ready to ride at 11:00 a.m.!

Speaking of Sunday, this is your last chance to RSVP for our New Paltz ride! We will leave the shop at 9 a.m. sharp. There will be 2 distances for this ride. The first distance is a 40-50 mile ride to New Paltz, followed by lunch at the Gilded Otter Brew Pub. Remember, to participate in this ride you need to coordinate a ride back home. Feel free to communicate through the website/blog if you need a ride back, or if you have any extra seats in your vehicle to offer!

The second ride be a round trip to New Paltz and back - approx. 90-100 miles. We will do our best to make it a true "century" (100 mile ride) even if it means an extra lap around Pinecliff Lake on the way home. We'll ride up with the group, grab a quick snack or burrito, and turn our wheels south again for the trip home.

While both rides do not cover much vertical climbing, 50 (or 100!) miles is still 50 (or 100!) miles, no matter what the pace. We will aim for our pace to be in the 15 mph range. If you have never gone more than 40 miles, this would not be the best ride to give it a try unless you already have 4 or 5 twenty-plus mile rides this year. Also, because this is a large group ride, where drafting and riding in a straight line is an important skill, make sure you have done 2 or 3 Friday night rides so you will have practiced this skill and are comfortable riding in a large group.

PLEASE RSVP ASAP - NOW! We need to make reservations for lunch! In your RSVP, please let us know if you are doing the Half or Full Century so we can plan accordingly. We will be asking anyone who is driving back to follow the ride route home so if there are any machine (bike) or muscular (people) mechanicals, we can repair or pick up as necessary.

The weather is supposed to be pretty good on Sunday, so come out and join us for a scenic ride and a great lunch!
