School is over!

The school year that was never ending is finally over - hallelujah! Time to celebrate!
  • No guided road ride for the ladies tonight - if you can make it, you'll have to work together and motivate each other!
  • Friday night, July 1 - and the beginning of a long weekend! Get off to a good start by joining us on our Friday night road ride on Clinton Road. Meet us at 6 p.m., the old Village Square Inn, Rt. 23, Newfoundland. Work off that July 4th BBQ before you even start!
  • New addition! Steve and Martha Boshart will lead a moderate pace mixed group road ride from the shop at 9 AM tomorrow, about 40 miles+, up through Warwick, Sugarloaf, Chester, Monroe and Greenwood Lake. Probably about 3 hours. Moderate climbing at start and will work our way down into Warwick and through valleys back into town. Bring food and water, probably a water stop at halfway.
  • Don't forget - you want to avoid riding at Jungle Habitat this Friday and Saturday, as Thunder in the Highlands will be bringing droves of people to our normally quiet park!
  • Speaking of Jungle Habitat, TTC member Tim will be leading a beginners ride meeting at noon on Sunday, July 3. Tim is super knowledgeable about all of the trails at the Hab, so he's a great guide to show you around the joint!
  • Looking for more of a challenge? We'll be riding at Blue Mountain on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Blue Mountain, home to the 7th race in the H2H series, is a great park with lots of technical trails and climbing. We'll be doing an intermediate+ ride, about 3 hours long. Please note there is a fee to park if you are going!
Check in later in the week for more updates - and have a great long weekend!

Jungle Habitat and Thunder in the Highlands

The West Milford PAL is hosting the Thunder in the Highlands at Jungle Habitat on July 1-2 (with the possibility of July 3rd being a rain date, rumor has it!) . There will be crowds, and parking issues, etc., so you may want to check out some of our other fantastic state parks for a few days while the WM PAL throws a July 4th party!

Weekend riding

Well, if it ever stops raining, we'll head out for a few rides this weekend!

First up, our Friday night party on Clinton Road! Same time, same place - 6 p.m., old Village Square Inn parking lot, Rt. 23, Newfoundland. Great place to practice your paceline and group riding!

Saturday, June 25, we will do a pre-ride of the race course at Lewis Morris. Meet us at 10 a.m. at the ballfield by the beach, and we'll do a lap or two of the course!

On Sunday, June 26, the 3rd H2H race of the season takes place at Lewis Morris Park in Morristown, NJ. If you are just starting out mountain bike racing, this is a good place to start! Get more info at BikeReg, and good luck to all of our TTC racers out there!

If road riding is more your style, join us for a NYC road ride on Sunday, June 26th. We'll meet at 9:30 a.m. at KC's Bagels on Route 23 South in Pompton Plains. We'll grab a bagel, talk about our route, and check out the sites in NYC! RSVP ASAP!

Wine tasting tickets still available!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we still have tickets available for the wine tasting event fund raiser for our Party for Marty - June 7, at the Endless Vine in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Tickets are just $30 per person, and must be purchased in advance. Please help us make this fundraiser a success and join us for some wine tasting and a great evening out with friends, all while helping out our buddy Marty!

We'll plan to arrive there around 9 a.m. - if you are interested in carpooling or caravaning, let us know! Bring your bike (almost anything but a road bike or cyclocross bike will do - mountain bike, BMX bike, gears, no gears - it's all good!) and helmet and check it out!
